End of support for Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista RTM

  • End of support for Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista RTM

As we announced in 2008, support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010. Support for Windows 2000 will end on the same date. Support for Windows Vista Release to Manufacturing (RTM) will end on April 13, 2010.

NOTE: There is no Service Pack 3 for the 64-bit version of Windows XP. If you are running the 64-bit version of Windows XP with Service Pack 2, you are on the latest service pack and will continue to be eligible for support and receive updates until April 8, 2014. Read the rest of this entry »

It has only been a little over 4 months since Windows 7 was launched and Microsoft  has already sold over 90 million copies. The revelation was made by Microsoft CFO Peter Klien at the recent Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom conference.

Microsoft [MSFT] has announced that its latest operating system Window 7, has sold over 90 million copies since it was launched on the 22nd of October 2009, and according to Microsoft this is the fastest selling operating system in the history of the PC industry. Read the rest of this entry »

Here is the bad news if you are using Windows 2000 or XP SP2 or Vista RTM ,your PC will no longer receive security update as Microsoft  ending  the support for them.Microsoft asking users now either to upgrade to Windows 7 or install  latest service packs for XP SP2 and Vista RTM  PCs using Windows update. Microsoft has evidently exterminated a Microsoft employee’s thoughts on the next version of the Windows operating system, removing a blog post that informally keeps referring to Windows.next as the next Windows 8.

The unknown employee calls the new version “completly different from what folks usually expect of Windows,” and that “The themes that have been floated truly reflect what people have been looking for years and it will change the way people think about PCs and the way they use them. The eVouse is a revolutionary wireless laptop mouse concept that features excellent outlook and two different functions to make computing easier. Aside from using it as a traditional mouse, this ‘V’ shaped mouse can be used as a pen sensor for particular design works like designing an industrial entity. The tactile action buttons and scroll offers convenient using and illuminates green light with every action movement which demonstrates it’s ‘in use’ status. The pen sensor is placed at the top corner of the head, allowing the user to have a perfect grip on the mouse when dragging it to perform particular action.

It’s not entirely clear how this eVouse works, but based on the pictures from the concept design, it’s meant for your laptops and tablet computers. It switches effortlessly between being a mouse and a pen sensor for design works, so if you think pen and paper is getting boring, this might be the pen of the future. The buttons and the scroll wheel are tactile, so you’ll feel the feedback when you use it. It’ll also be illuminated by a green light with every movement when you’re waving it around like Harry Potter. It doesn’t look like anything we’ll be seeing in the near future, but who knows? Two million people have downloaded the Microsoft Office 2010 public beta since its release November last year, and Microsoft believes they are on the right track again. The company has just announced that a new release candidate has been made available, but only to a select few testers in Microsoft’s Technology
