Those looking to carry the most amount of space they can in the smallest package will be happy to hear that Kingston has just released a 256GB USB flash drive. This flash drive, pictured above, is entitled the DataTraveler 310 has a read and write speeds of 25MB/second and 12MB/second, respectively.

Kingston promises data transfer rates of 25MB/sec read and 12MB/sec write. The drive measures 2.9″ x 0.87″ x 0.63″ and has a removable cap that covers the USB port. The flash drive also ships with a loop to attach it to a key ring.

At the bottom of the drive, just above the hole where the lanyard is to be attached, is an activity LED that glows orange.

When you start this software, you are prompted to create a Privacy Zone on the drive, which is nothing but an encrypted partition that will be used to securely store important data. This partition remains hidden as long as the correct password is not entered.
